Survey Report on Compliance with the Electronic Bookkeeping Act
Survey Report on Compliance with the Electronic Bookkeeping Act of 2022
Since its enactment in 1998, the Electronic Bookkeeping Act has been revised several times. While the requirements have been greatly eased and the hurdles for complying with the Electronic Bookkeeping Act have been lowered, many system administrators are concerned about whether they will be able to keep up with the frequent amendments to the law. At the end of 2021, the announcement by the government and ruling party that there would be a two-year grace period for the January 2022 amendments attracted much attention. In this report, we conducted an independent questionnaire survey of companies in various industries and business categories, and compiled information on the actual status of each company's response to the electronic transactions and what they plan to do during the two-year grace period.
