Ritsumeikan, with a history and tradition of over 110 years, is one of Japan's leading comprehensive schools with two universities, four affiliated junior high and high schools, and an elementary school. The Accounting Standards for School Corporations, which are applicable to private schools, have been partially revised in order to disclose and explain the management status of school corporations, which are responsible for public education, to society in a more understandable manner against the backdrop of recent major changes in social and economic conditions and the business environment surrounding private schools. In 2013, Ritsumeikan began a study to review its university-wide accounting processes in response to the partial revision of the Accounting Standards for Educational Institutions. The main points of the review are as follows:

1. computerization of various application procedures that are exchanged on paper
2. standardization and systematization of tasks that are often done manually using Excel, etc.
3. efficiency improvement by strengthening data sharing and collaboration with peripheral systems such as the personnel salary system
4. advancement of business standards through process restructuring
In addition, the current In addition, the current accounting and financial management system has been customized each time the size of the school expands or operations are reviewed, resulting in increased additional costs.

HUE Classic" AC Series, which can handle accounting operations unique to school corporations with standard functions, was adopted.

  1. When considering a new accounting system, Ritsumeikan compared several package systems and selected the "HUE Classic" AC Series based on the following three points: 1. High coverage of Ritsumeikan's expected business areas with standard functions, and the ability to expand functions for any shortfalls.

HUE Classic" can handle accounting operations unique to school corporations, which differ from general corporate accounting, with its standard functions, thanks to its unique product concept*. No customization is required to accommodate partial amendments to the Accounting Standards for School Corporations and changes in operations, such as the creation of new activity-based statements of fund balance. Ritsumeikan has been using COMPANY Personnel and Payroll since 2003, and has received high praise for its track record of consistently providing the most up-to-date system for a fixed maintenance fee.

Ritsumeikan will make maximum use of the advanced business know-how that Works has accumulated through its extensive experience in implementing systems for major private companies, and will further strengthen its accounting operations by reducing costs through streamlining and labor-saving operations across multiple campuses, as well as by organizing and properly executing budgets and analyzing financial results. Works will continue to expand the functions of "HUE Classic" for school corporations to support the streamlining of accounting operations at school corporations.
