Citizen's Co-operative Nara Coop, Inc.
Nara Co-op promotes succession planning by improving operational efficiency by 3,000 hours per year. Nara Co-op is the first consumer cooperative in Japan to adopt HUE Classic.
Nara Co-op is a regional purchasing co-op in Nara Prefecture with approximately 46% of the prefecture's residents as members. With the mission of "creating a symbiotic society of mutual aid," Nara Co-op is promoting the development of successors with the aim of becoming an organization that can continue to exist for 100 years. The cooperative's staff is aging, and as veteran staff members will begin to retire in the next few years, the cooperative estimated that it would take more than three years to hand over operations to their successors. In order to ensure a quick succession of a wide range of operations, the association began to make further use of IT while reviewing its overall business operations. In particular, operational know-how was concentrated on specific staff members in areas that require a lot of manual work, and it was hoped that the use of IT would eliminate the concentration of work and reduce the number of routine tasks through AI.
The retirement of veteran employees will come in a few years. Strengthening IT infrastructure for business succession to the next generation

HUE Classic" is adopted to ensure both a quick and stable business succession and to improve member satisfaction.
With an eye on long-term business succession, NaraCorp selected HUE Classic as its accounting system. The following two points were particularly important in the adoption of HUE Classic.
AI learns a wide range of tasks and reduces the workload of new staff.
HUE Classic" uses machine learning technology to learn daily business processes and accumulate business know-how. In order to train successors, the veteran staff had to deal with a wide range of tasks, and it was difficult to pass on the knowledge to the successors if it was based on their experience. HUE Classic" supports accurate operations by proposing the next process based on accumulated know-how. This means that even inexperienced staff can proceed with their work as if they were experienced staff, without relying on manuals.
AI automates operations, saving 3,000 hours of work time per year.
In addition to the above, "HUE Classic" predicts and takes over routinely repeated tasks, such as inputting and preparing tables, to realize an overwhelming improvement in operational efficiency. Since there is a clear distinction between tasks to be automated by "HUE Classic" and those to be performed by humans, the association expects to save 3,000 man-hours of work in the accounting area. This will enable the cooperative to maintain its existing business operations and focus on tasks that should be performed by employees, such as human resource development, planning of products and services unique to the cooperative in response to changes in member lifestyles, and formulation of business strategies.
Works will continue to support the improvement of IT investment efficiency at Co-op and other consumer cooperatives nationwide that contribute to people's lives and culture rooted in their communities.
