(Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Osamu Hata; hereinafter "WAP") announced today that Taiyo Life Insurance Co. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Naoki Soejima; hereafter, Taiyo Life) announces that it has launched "HUE Digital Invoice," a cloud invoice sending and receiving service provided by WAP. This service was highly evaluated for its ease of integration with the HUE Classic accounting system, as well as its ability to not only promote paperless operations, but also to deliver invoices to the invoiced party more quickly than conventional mail. Taiyo Life aims to reduce man-hours by digitizing the approximately 1,000 invoices generated each month.

Background of Introduction: Reducing Man-hours by Digitizing Issuance Work

Taiyo Life was still using paper for both issuing and receiving invoices, and was having to deal with approximately 2,000 pieces of paper every month. In particular, the issuing process required 150 man-hours per month for printing, enclosing, and mailing. Since the company was using WAP's "HUE Classic" in the core area of its accounting system, it introduced "HUE Digital Invoice" for easy integration. The system has now been put into operation. By reducing paper-based operations and digitizing invoicing, the company expects to improve speed and efficiency, as well as significantly reduce man-hours.

Comments from Mr. Chikaoka, Manager of the Fund Management Section, Operation Management Department, Taiyo Life Insurance Co.
We were still using paper for both issuing and receiving invoices, but we are now working to go paperless in order to improve operational efficiency. We felt that we urgently needed to improve the efficiency of our issuing operations in particular, so we first adopted and started using HUE Digital Invoice for issuing operations only. We are now able to digitize almost all of our issuing operations, with the exception of some operations for public institutions, and we expect to be able to significantly reduce the man-hours involved. We believe that we should not give up from the beginning, saying that there are some operations that cannot be digitized, and that working on digitization one step at a time will lead to improvement of the efficiency of the entire business.
