Meiji Corporation begins operation of the "HUE AC Series
2022/07/13
A group company of Works Applications, Inc. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Masahiko Miyahara) announces that Meiji Corporation (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Katsuya Matsuda; hereinafter "Meiji") has started operation of the "HUE AC Series" accounting system.

Background of Introduction
With the recent promotion of DX and changes in the working environment, Meiji was required to transform its accounting operations, including the digitization of information. The company started to revamp its accounting system to maximize the digitization of accounting information, improve operational efficiency, and realize diverse work styles. After much consideration, the company decided to adopt the "HUE AC Series" as an upgrade to its existing system, the "HUE Classic" series.
Reasons for the adoption of "HUE AC Series
HUE AC Series" is compliant with the revised Electronic Bookkeeping Act, and enables a wide range of accounting operations, including accounting system input and electronic storage, to be performed digitally and paperlessly. The adoption of this system has been highly evaluated for its ability to digitize all areas of accounting operations, including receipt of invoices (*1), accounting system input, and electronic storage, as well as reimbursement of advances, to achieve a completely paperless environment.
■Correspondence to the Dodochho Law with less burden on the field
The system is equipped with a function that automatically links to HUE EBM (*2) when vouchers are attached onsite during the application process, making it possible to automatically consolidate electronic ledger information into HUE EBM in a series of operations from input to approval. This enables compliance with the Electronic Ledger Act without increasing on-site work man-hours due to system factors.
■Complete paperless
To address the issue of system fragmentation caused by the complex system map unique to large companies, HUE EBM is equipped with a mechanism that can link not only business information and journal information but also voucher information from upstream systems, thereby preventing information fragmentation caused by the complex system map that large companies tend to fall prey to. As a result, the system is seamlessly linked to upstream systems even in Meiji-scale accounting operations, leading to the realization of a completely paperless system.
■Reduction of implementation man-hours by upgrading
By upgrading the "HUE Classic" series, the scope of new system consideration was minimized and the following points were realized. As a result, the number of implementation man-hours was significantly reduced and Meiji was able to focus on DX realization and business improvement, which were the main objectives of the reform.
While additional development is inevitable when introducing other candidates for consideration, the "HUE AC Series" can be introduced without the need for add-on development.
・Reduction of the introduction period from the usual 2-3 years to approximately 1.5 years.
・Cost advantages due to the lack of add-on development.
(*1) Invoices are received using a cloud service that receives invoices from another company. (*1) Receipt of invoices is realized by the functions of other companies' invoice receipt cloud services.
(*2) HUE EBM is a function that enables electronic data conversion and centralized management of paper receipts and other documents by scanning or photographing them with a smartphone.
3. effects of the introduction of "HUE AC Series
The introduction of the new system has made it possible to go paperless for accounting slips and forms. Man-hours and costs associated with paper document management have been significantly reduced, and the digitalization of information has also improved the searchability of documents and the operational efficiency of various investigations. As a result, Meiji expects to save approximately 540,000 sheets of paper per year and approximately 2,400 hours of filing work per year.
Going forward, the company will gradually introduce the system to its group companies in Japan, with the aim of achieving a paperless office environment and optimizing operations for the entire Meiji Group.
