HUE Classic" AC Series is Introduced to 24 Group Companies as a Core System for Accounting and Finance
Pal System Consumers' Co-operative Union is a federation of regional co-ops mainly in the Tokyo metropolitan area.
It is engaged in the supply of products, mainly foodstuffs, as well as mutual aid, insurance, welfare, and electric power businesses.
With the philosophy of "creating a society where people can lead enriched lives and coexist in harmony," HUE started individual home delivery services in the 1990s, ahead of all co-ops in Japan, and is constantly taking on new challenges to become a co-op that is useful to the lives of its members, such as providing ordering methods that suit their lifestyles.
Pal System Consumers' Cooperative Union (hereafter, "Pal System") implemented the same system for all 24 group companies and was able to start operations at the same time for all organizations. By using the same system for the group, data linkage work and journal entries were reduced without compromising the convenience of the existing system. In addition, by using consolidated closing functions and other functions required for the operation of a unified group system for large corporations, we aim to realize the consolidation and streamlining of operations.
Background of Introduction
PAL System launched a project in November 2017 to introduce a more efficient and easier-to-use product in response to the end of maintenance on the part of the manufacturer of the accounting system used within the group, and has been conducting a close examination of the necessary specifications and specific product selection.
The old system had the following three main issues, and we proceeded with the selection of a successor system from the perspective of whether or not these issues could be cleared.
The system required a lot of manual data entry, which took a lot of time and manpower.
・Double journal entries were made on both sides of intra-group transactions, which was inefficient.
・Time-consuming processing of reports output from the accounting system, including management report materials, was also a problem. Time-consuming processing of forms output from the accounting system, including management reporting documents
Evaluation Points of the HUE Classic AC Series
In adopting the next-generation core system for accounting and finance, PAL System set the goal of "building a foundation to realize group management control and improve the efficiency of management operations. We chose PALSEC because it fulfilled the following four criteria for selection.
To introduce accounting software in a unified group-wide manner
・To make early settlement of accounts a goal for the entire group
・To design a flexible system for input and output
・To save labor and improve efficiency in business operations
Future Outlook
The PAL System Group plans to increase its proficiency with the "HUE Classic" AC series. After one year of actual operation following the introduction work period, we will position the next few years as a period for establishing operation and promoting operational efficiency, and will continue to take the necessary measures to realize effective operation so that we can fully enjoy the benefits of introducing a unified system for the entire group organization.
