WAP Participates in the Expense MIRAI Council
Creating the "Next Normal" in Expense Reimbursement through Co-Creation Linking Systems and Workplaces

2025/12/19

(Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Osamu Hata; hereinafter "WAP") has joined the "Expense MIRAI Council," a voluntary organization to promote DX and system compliance in expense reimbursement operations, with Concur, Inc. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Yoshio Hashimoto; hereinafter referred to as "Concur") has joined the "Expense MIRAI Council," a voluntary organization that promotes DX of expense reimbursement operations and compliance with systems.

Background of Participation

In recent years, companies have been required to both comply with systems and improve efficiency in their expense reimbursement operations against a backdrop of systemic changes such as the invoice system and a shortage of human resources. To address these issues, the "Expense MIRAI Council" was established in June 2025 to bridge the gap between the system and on-site operations.

WAP agrees with the philosophy of the Council, and as an ERP vendor familiar with the business processes of major companies, we have joined the Council to play a role in bridging the gap between the system and on-site practices. Through our participation, WAP's customers' voices and issues will be reflected in the Council's fact-finding surveys and policy proposal activities. In addition, by collaborating with leading companies in each industry and encouraging the implementation of systems and operations that match the realities of the workplace, we will promote the improvement of operational efficiency for all Japanese companies.

Activities

WAP will participate in regular meetings and discussions of activity policies at this council. Furthermore, WAP will cooperate in surveys on the systems, technologies, and operational status of expense reimbursement operations, and in the formulation and dissemination of practical guidelines and other information. In addition, the Council will play a role as a joint advocacy body in dialogues and policy advocacy activities with government agencies and industry associations, and will make proposals from the perspective of connecting the field and the system.

<We will also serve as a joint advocacy body in dialogues with government agencies and industry associations and in policy advocacy activities, and will make proposals from the perspective of connecting the field and the system . We expect that discussions will proceed from both institutional and practical perspectives, enabling us to examine the issue from a broader perspective. With this participation, the Council now consists of six companies, which will further strengthen cooperation in the area of expense reimbursement. We will continue to work together with the participating companies to resolve issues related to expense reimbursement operations.

Shogo Ishikawa, Executive Officer of Works Applications, Inc. commented:
Expense reimbursement is not just an indirect business, but reflects the way a company works and its productivity. We are working to create an environment in which Japanese companies can achieve true digital transformation through solutions that both standardize and advance business operations. Through our participation in the "Cost MIRAI Council," we will work together to create the "next normal" for business transformation from the perspective of both the system and the workplace.
