Para-balloon thrower Hideki Kanayama wins Osaka Sports Award for Outstanding Athlete

2025/10/31

(Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Osamu Hata; hereafter "WAP") is pleased to announce that Hideki Kanayama, a para-balloon thrower and employee of WAP, has received the "Osaka Sports Award for Outstanding Athlete". This prestigious award, sponsored by the Osaka Prefectural Government and the Osaka Prefectural Board of Education, is presented to individuals and organizations that have contributed to the promotion of sports and physical education in the prefecture.

 Kanayama joined WAP in September 2024 as its first athlete employee. This initiative to support his challenges as an athlete embodies WAP's corporate philosophy of "maximizing corporate and individual value" as part of its human capital management. WAP will continue to create an environment where diverse human resources can play their own roles, fulfill its social responsibility as a corporation, and aim for sustainable growth.

<Comments from Hideki Kanayama>
Thank you very much for this award. I would like to thank the federation for recommending me and the Osaka Prefectural Government for deciding on this award. In receiving this award, I feel once again that this is a result of the support of many people, including my coaches and family members, as well as WAP, who have been helping, supporting, and cheering me on on a daily basis. I am proud to have received this award, and I will continue to face the competition in the future so as not to be embarrassed by this award.
