JR Kyushu adopts "HUE Asset" in response to new lease accounting standards
Ease of integration with existing systems and lessor/sublessor functions highly evaluated

May 27, 2025

(Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Osamu Hata; hereinafter "WAP") announced today that Kyushu Railway Company (Head Office: Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture; President and CEO: Yoji Komiya; hereinafter "JR Kyushu") has decided to adopt WAP's fixed asset and lease management system "HUE Asset". JR Kyushu will use HUE Asset to smoothly integrate with its existing system and comply with the new lease accounting standards, which will have a significant impact on its business operations due to its expansion into multiple industries.

 JR Kyushu x WAP

Background of Adoption: Lease management issues that are unique to a company that operates in multiple industries.

JR Kyushu is a company that operates a wide variety of businesses, including railroad, real estate, and retail, and has many real estate and movable property leases, which are greatly affected by the new lease accounting standards. In particular, the company has many lease contracts for properties within the group, and changing the processing of sublease contracts was a challenge. The existing in-house system did not have lease management functions and was difficult to modify to comply with the standard. After comparing and evaluating the introduction of a dedicated system, the decision was made to implement HUE Asset because of its ease of integration with the existing system and its standard support for lessor and sublessor functions.

Expected Effects: Lessor and sublessor leases will be included as standard equipment, reducing the burden of complying with the new standards.

In addition to the lessee function, HUE Asset includes the lessor and sublease functions as standard, which are required for companies that operate in multiple industries throughout the group. This significantly reduces the burden on JR Kyushu to comply with the new lease accounting standards. In addition, since all functions, including the lessor function, are provided within the scope of the free version upgrade, future system revisions can be handled without additional cost, thereby reducing long-term operating costs.

HUE Asset has the necessary functions as standard, and we can respond to future changes in the law without worry, The key factors in our decision to implement HUE Asset were its ability to smoothly integrate with our existing system and its ability to handle subleasing as a standard feature.
We expect that expanding the scope of use of HUE Asset will allow us to smoothly respond to future considerations for the use of packaged products in the area of fixed assets.
