Major Entertainment Company Adopts "HUE Accounts Payable" Taking Advantage of its Ability to Respond to Changes in the Law and Quickly Adapt to International Standards for Foreign Remittances

2025/03/31

(Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Osamu Hata; hereafter "WAP") announced today that Sony Music Entertainment (hereafter "SME") has decided to adopt WAP's debt management system "HUE Accounts Payable (hereafter "HUE AP")". HUE AP will enable SME to comply with ISO 20022, the international standard for foreign remittance operations, and will help SME meet the November 2025 deadline. HUE AP will also contribute to stable operations and improved business efficiency.

Background of Adoption] Solving issues related to compliance with ISO20022

SME had been using an in-house system for debt management, but with the requirements for the new format still undecided, it was difficult to complete the ISO20022-compliant modifications in time, and the company wanted a package product that could respond flexibly.
HUE AP was the first to support ISO 20022 with standard functions starting in January 2024, and this was highly valued. Another deciding factor in our decision to adopt HUE AP was the system's flexibility, which allows us to handle the current workflow of linking remittance data with the accounting system without making any changes.

Expected Effects] Regulatory compliance and establishment of stable operations

The introduction of HUE AP will enable SME to meet the ISO20022 compliance deadline of November 2025, and while ISO20022 compliance is not a simple format change that affects the entire business process, HUE AP is designed with an emphasis on ease of use by the field departments to minimize the burden on foreign remittance operations. HUE AP is designed to minimize the workload on foreign remittance operations by focusing on ease of use in the field.
Furthermore, HUE AP can respond to future revisions of laws and regulations with standard features that can be upgraded free of charge, enabling stable operations over the long term.

Business Process Planning Department, Enterprise Systems Division, Digital Innovation Group, Sony Music Entertainment Inc.

We believe that HUE AP combines flexibility and certainty in complying with ISO20022 and enables us to achieve overall optimization without making major changes to our current flow of operations. We believe that HUE AP can achieve overall optimization without making major changes to the current flow. During the review phase, the development team confirmed our requirements through demonstrations and clearly indicated the scope of possible support, so we were able to make the decision to implement the system with peace of mind. With the introduction of this system, we expect to have a foundation that will allow us to respond to future revisions of laws and regulations as well as operational improvements, and to utilize the system in other areas where we are utilizing in-house systems.
