(Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Osamu Hata; hereafter "WAP") announced today that its fixed asset management system "HUE Asset" will support electronic filing of fixed asset tax (depreciable assets) across municipalities. With this system, tax return data calculated by HUE Asset can be directly linked to e-filing software, enabling significant automation of the work involved in declaring depreciable assets.

1. Users' voices are delivered to the authorities, enabling e-filing even for "assets that span across municipalities.

Electronic filing of property tax (depreciable assets) became available in 2006 and is widely used when filing returns to the municipality where the assets are located. On the other hand, depreciable assets (assets allocated by the governor or minister) that straddle multiple municipalities, such as railroad tracks, require reporting to the prefectural government or the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, and were excluded from the scope of electronic reporting. As a result, they were required to send old-fashioned paper tax returns, and the manual work of printing, enclosing, and sending the declaration data was a major burden.

In response to the voices of users who own assets in a wide area, including railroad operators, WAP has been requesting the expansion of electronic tax return eligibility. As a result, the Tax Reform Proposal for FY2023 will include assets allocated to governors and ministers for e-filing, and from January 2025, it will be possible to file tax returns using PCdesk Next, software compatible with eLTAX (electronic local tax filing).

2. HUE Asset enables one-stop service from calculation to electronic filing.

HUE Asset will provide an electronic tax return data output function to prefectures and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications in 2025(*). This function will enable tax return data automatically generated by HUE to be imported directly onto PCdesk Next and connected to e-filing. This function reduces the time and effort required for depreciable asset declarations to a minimum, even for fixed assets that cross municipalities, and automates the declaration process.
HUE supports depreciable assets of railroads among those declared to prefectures and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.

3. Rapid response to changes in laws and regulations and provision of free version upgrades

HUE's product concept is to promptly respond to changes in laws and regulations and systems and to provide "free version upgrades" within the maintenance fee, and HUE Asset already supports, as a standard feature, the "New Lease Accounting Standards" which will be mandatorily applied from April 2027, in addition to the latest e-filing support. HUE Asset will continue to provide business efficiency functions in response to the revision of Japanese laws and regulations and systems.
