The Nishinippon Shimbun launches HUE Workflow
Accelerating internal DX by leveraging external system integration capabilities
2024/12/10
(Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Osamu Hata; hereinafter referred to as "WAP") announced today that The Nishinippon Shimbun, a newspaper company headquartered in Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture (President: Daisuke Tagawa; hereinafter referred to as "The Nishinippon Shimbun") has started using WAP's workflow system "HUE Workflow". The Nishinippon Shimbun is pleased to announce that it has started using HUE Workflow, a workflow system provided by WAP. The system was highly evaluated for its ease of use, automation through various system linkages, and functionality in transferring access privileges to each department. The Nishinippon Shimbun will further accelerate the digitization and streamlining of its operations by going paperless with paper-based applications and by linking systems with external parties.

Background】Easy-to-use workflow is adopted in all departments and operations.
The Nishinippon Shimbun had been using Workflow as a front-end function of its accounting system for travel expenses and expense reimbursement, but many non-accounting operations were still performed on paper, and the entire company needed to go paperless and improve operational efficiency.
Therefore, we decided to implement HUE Workflow because it is easy to use and can be maintained onsite even after it is up and running, and it is possible to set management privileges for each department and link it to external systems. Two internal staff members set up the system and it was up and running in a short period of three months.
Effects of Introduction: Reduced operational man-hours by automating operations using external linkages.
Utilizing the external linkage function of HUE Workflow, the Information System Department at Nishinippon Shimbun prepared the account linkage, authority settings, and electronic document storage after approval. The field departments that actually use the system take the initiative in creating input forms for individual applications, setting approval routes and disclosure ranges, and reviewing operations, thereby realizing speedy operational deployment.
< We have been able to almost completely digitize our paper-based application forms with the introduction of HUE Workflow. In addition, system integration has reduced the time and effort required to respond to personnel transfers, and access to data has become smoother, leading to increased operational efficiency.
In the future, we would like to expand the use of HUE Workflow to the entire group to further promote DX.
