Digital Invoice Interoperability Test Conducted
WAP Member Companies of EIPA Announce Results of First Test
2024/07/03
(Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Osamu Hata; hereinafter referred to as "WAP"), a member of the Digital Invoice Promotion Council (hereinafter referred to as "EIPA"; Representative Executive Committee: TKC Corporation), has conducted an interoperability test.
Peppol is an international standard for exchanging electronic documents such as invoices over a network. Peppol e-invoice (digital invoice sent and received via the Peppol network) has been adopted in European countries, Singapore, Australia, and other countries, and is becoming increasingly popular internationally.
In order to ensure that many businesses can safely adopt digital invoice (Peppol e-invoice), several certified Peppol Service Providers in Japan who are members of EIPA have cooperated to conduct interoperability tests between systems or services provided by EIPA member companies from April 2024 onward. EIPA members have conducted interoperability tests between systems or services provided by EIPA member companies. Twenty-three EIPA member companies (*1) participated in this test.

Through the Peppol e-invoice mechanism, digital invoices can be smoothly exchanged online between domestic and overseas counterparties. As a result, businesses can achieve overwhelming efficiency and accuracy in billing, payment, and bookkeeping operations, and increase their productivity, not to mention paperless invoice system compliance and automation of business processes.
EIPA will continue to collaborate with interoperability tests conducted by certified Peppol Service Providers in Japan to further promote the use of digital invoicing (Peppol e-invoice) in Japan. WAP, as a secretariat of EIPA, will also focus on promoting the use of Peppol, and aims to significantly change the way business transactions are conducted through the "HUE Digital Invoice," which enables the exchange of invoice data via Peppol to be completed in the digital world.
About HUE Digital Invoice
This is a cloud invoice sending/receiving service that allows users to receive and issue invoices with intuitive operation, and can be easily integrated with the HUE series and other accounting systems to support the digitalization of billing and payment operations.
It can be used continuously toward full digitalization, not only for hybrid operations with mixed paper and electronic file exchanges, but also for Pepol. In addition, by using the receiving agent service in combination with the receiving agent service, it is possible to realize a paperless office by receiving invoices that are currently received in paper form at the Business Support Center, thereby reducing the burden on the business partner.
