(Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Osamu Hata; hereafter "WAP") is pleased to announce that it has received the "Hataraku Ale 2024" award from the Executive Committee of the Welfare Award and Certification System. This is the fourth time WAP has received this award. The award ceremony will be held on May 20, 2024.

WAP positions its employees as the driving force behind its Products / Services offerings and continues to provide an environment where "critical workers" with advanced problem-solving skills can continue to take on challenges with peace of mind.

What is Hatara Quail Welfare Promotion Corporation?

The "Hataraku Ale" (Benefits Recognition and Recognition Program) is a program that recognizes companies for their efforts to enhance their benefits programs. The program is intended to raise the importance of corporate benefits, raise the level of such programs, and provide job seekers with information to help them make better decisions when selecting a company. This system was launched in 2019, and 100 corporations were certified as benefit promotion corporations this year. Certification is based on five criteria, and the idea of creating "an environment where people can thrive" was particularly highly evaluated in this year's award, with the critique stating that "management places great importance on benefits, and those in charge deeply recognize benefits as a means to support human resource strategies."

WAP has developed a human capital strategy to date, based on the philosophy of defining "critical workers" as people who take on challenging tasks and providing them with opportunities for success. Mr. Hata, WAP's CEO, commented, "The reason why WAP has been able to overcome the various difficulties it has faced to date is because people are at the core of the company. People are also the basis for accelerating business growth in the future. WAP's enthusiasm for "people" led to its winning of this award.

Creating an environment where "people" can play an active role

WAP has strategically created a work environment that maximizes the growth of its "critical workers" and strengthens engagement, organizational capabilities, and results. We are focusing our efforts on an environment that promotes success, not just a benefits environment.

In response to feedback from male employees, WAP FAMO (Farmo) Support, a childcare support system renewed in September 2022, now offers childcare support regardless of gender. With the addition of male employees, the current childcare leave take-up rate is 100% for women and 82.3% for men, far exceeding the 46.2% rate of male employees taking childcare leave at large companies in FY2010. In addition, the company offers a half-parental leave system to support employees returning to the workplace, as well as a return bonus after maternity leave.

Since April 2023, the revised Child Care and Family Care Leave Law requires companies with 1,000 or more employees to disclose the percentage of male employees taking childcare leave, and there is a growing movement to encourage employees to take childcare leave. WAP provides an environment that allows employees to choose their working style. This allows employees to work flexibly according to their childcare and life stages.
