　(Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Osamu Hata; hereinafter "WAP") announced today that Morinaga Milk Industry Co. ("HUE"), an ERP package software provided by WAP. Morinaga Milk Industry is reforming its financial accounting operations to solve management issues arising from changes in the social environment, and will further accelerate the streamlining and digitization of its financial accounting operations by expanding HUE to its group companies in Japan.

1. old system is a black box, making it a challenge to reform operations

　The challenge in promoting business reform was to review the system. Morinaga Milk Industry had been using a system built in-house, but as a result of repeatedly adding partial functions, the system had become complex and "black boxed," and had become a bottleneck in the business reform process. In order to solve these problems from the very beginning, the company decided to introduce a new ERP system. HUE was selected because of its many standard functions and its ability to flexibly adapt to future changes.

2. Comprehensive coverage of necessary functions, and reduction of 1.26 million sheets of paper through group expansion

　With HUE, additional functions that become necessary as laws and regulations are revised or technological innovations are provided free of charge as version upgrades. HUE has a proven track record of operation in the food manufacturing industry, and HUE was highly evaluated for its ability to reduce routine and work-intensive tasks, allowing more people to be dedicated to higher value-added tasks and more efficient operations. If the system is expanded to the group in the future and digitalization progresses, it is expected to lead to a reduction of 1.26 million sheets of paper per year for the entire group in Japan, as well as to improved operational efficiency.

We are working to make our financial accounting operations smarter (slimmer and more digital) in order to solve management issues arising from changes in the social environment. A major challenge for the smarter approach has been to update the system, but we expect that HUE, which has many standard functions and provides version upgrades free of charge, will be sufficient to handle the business reforms of the entire group and future legal revisions.

3. Continued growth based on customer feedback, with over 6,700 standard functions and a 97%* non-customizable fit rate

　HUE is a domestically produced ERP system designed for major Japanese companies. It generalizes a wide variety of business requirements and business practices needed by companies regardless of industry or business category as "standard functions" with no additional cost, and continues to expand its functions based on customer needs. More than 6,700 advanced functions designed for user convenience and overwhelming functional comprehensiveness based on the experience of more than 2,200 companies have been highly evaluated and adopted by many companies. Over the past year, of the functions included in RFPs (Requests for Proposals) submitted by clients, HUE's standard functions have achieved an average response rate (fit rate) of 97%.
