HUE Holds Kick-Off Event with Participation of All Employees to Promote "Protection x Defeat x Separation" and to Facilitate Major Reforms

(Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Osamu Hata; hereafter "WAP") held a company-wide kick-off event on July 14 to explain its management policy and hold an awards ceremony. Mr. Hata summarized the 27th fiscal year (ended June 30, 2011) as "a year with a solid foundation," and emphasized that the 28th fiscal year (ending June 30, 2012), which has just begun, "will be a year to pave the way for a major transformation.
1. Achievement of profitability, and beyond that, major reforms
The kick-off event was attended by approximately 600 people, almost the entire domestic workforce. At the beginning of the event, Mr. Hata reviewed the 27th fiscal year. He reported that license sales had recovered, the number of business negotiations had increased, and the quality of business had improved, confirming that "customer trust had been restored. In addition, the company actively promoted activities to contribute to the promotion of a digital society, including the promotion of digital invoicing, and achieved "increased public recognition/confidence" as well as a return to profitability.
The theme for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2012, is "Mamoru x Haku x Ri," a term that describes the process of learning Japanese arts and geido (art of art). For "Mamoru," which means to protect and know the essentials, he explained that the company will invest in human capital to increase employee engagement with the aim of achieving long-term profits and increasing customer satisfaction. As for "breaking" the status quo and developing, he mentioned business that scales, pursuit of technology/advancement such as generative AI, and evolution of the organizational mindset.
As for "leaving" to move away from existing concepts and create new value, the goal was to provide advanced Products / Services that transform the operations of client companies, to become a leader in the change to a digital society, and to further accelerate the transformation of the business foundation to realize these goals. Qin said, "We have entered a phase of accelerating business growth again, where we can have more impact on our customers and society. The 28th term is the time to take on the challenge of creating new value and firmly establish a path for major transformation.
2. face to face and with one heart
The company-wide kickoff has been held every year in July, the first month of the new fiscal year, since teleworking was introduced in 2008 and the state of emergency was declared due to the spread of the new coronavirus, so the kickoff was also held online. Once the state of emergency was lifted, many people voiced their desire to gather offline at least once a half-year and the difficulty in conveying management's thoughts online, so the kickoff has been held mainly offline again since last year.
