Collaboration talks for human resource development

 (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Osamu Hata; hereafter "WAP") announces that it has donated to Kinki University Educational Corporation (Head Office: Higashi Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture; hereafter "Kinki University") in support of its pioneering initiatives and the founding spirit of the university, and in commemoration of its 100th anniversary. President Yoshihiko Hosoi and others visited WAP's headquarters and presented a letter of appreciation to Mr. Hata, a representative of WAP. In addition, Kinki University and WAP have agreed to proceed with discussions toward collaboration in the field of IT human resource development.

1. many leading-edge digital initiatives

 Kinki University, one of the largest universities in Japan, will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2025. WAP, in addition to the objectives of the commemorative projects, is very supportive of the university's founding spirit of "practical education" and "cultivation of character," and is also responding to the university's call for donations, WAP has responded to the university's call for donations in support of the commemorative projects and the university's founding spirit of "practical education" and "cultivation of character.

 Kinki University has been pioneering new initiatives ahead of other universities, such as online application, student ID cards with VISA prepaid function, issuance of various certificates at convenience stores, and textbook sales through the amazon website, and has been providing new educational models and values to students and the world by making full use of digital technology. In 2011, the university introduced WAP's ArielAirOne groupware to promote DX in university operations. It is a core tool for faculty and staff and is indispensable for the paperless operation of the university.

2. sharing the issue of "human resource shortage" and discussing collaboration to solve the problem

 In April 2022, Kinki University opened the Faculty of Informatics, which aims to nurture advanced IT professionals to handle AI, data analysis, cyber security, etc. With the shortage of IT professionals in Japan expected to be several hundred thousand by 2030, the university aims to develop human resources to meet the needs of society. President Hosoi said, "It has been said that there is a shortage of IT personnel, but now we also need higher-level personnel. We would like to help in the area of human resource development as well.

 In the same way, WAP sees the shortage of IT personnel as a major challenge that needs to be overcome in Japan, and has been hoping to apply its knowledge of business system development accumulated over many years to solving this problem. We have had students work on the development of business systems while providing them with guidance. We will leverage this experience and discuss collaboration with Kinki University for the development of human resources.
