2022/12/20
(Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Osamu Hata; hereinafter referred to as "WAP") launched the "Kumamoto Trial Migration" program for its group employees on December 15. The program is part of the Cabinet Office's experimental telework program for local development and allows employees to stay and telework in Kumamoto City at no cost to them. The first employee to take advantage of this program will stay in the area for a week from December 19 to 25.

1. living in Kumamoto while teleworking
More and more companies are introducing teleworking, and interest in emigrating to rural areas is growing. However, in order to actually decide to move to Kumamoto, it is necessary to make preliminary preparations, such as a preliminary inspection, and some people find it difficult to take the plunge due to day-to-day work and cost issues. The purpose of the "Kumamoto Trial Migration" program is to allow people to actually live in Kumamoto for a certain period of time and experience the good qualities of the region, leading to full-fledged emigration and a variety of work styles.
The first employee will live in Kumamoto City from December 15 to February 15 for a period of at least 5 days and 4 nights, but no longer than 1 month. The first employee is a male sales representative in his 40s who belongs to the Tokyo head office. During his stay, he will work either in a hotel room in Kumamoto City or at the WAP office. During his stay in Kumamoto, the first employee will also submit a report to the Cabinet Office on his impressions of living in Kumamoto and issues to be addressed in the implementation of telework for local development in the future, in order to serve as a reference for the Cabinet Office's measures to promote telework for local development. In implementing the "trial migration" program, WAP is receiving cooperation from the local governments of Kumamoto Prefecture and Kumamoto City.

2. Kumamoto Office offers a variety of work styles
WAP signed a location agreement with Kumamoto City and established a new Kumamoto office in February 2009 as a base for customer support and BCP measures, with approximately 50 people working there. About 50 people work there. Some commute to the office, some telework, and others work in a variety of styles. In conjunction with the expansion into Kumamoto, we provided special allowance to those who moved to the area from the Tokyo metropolitan area, and five people have moved to Kumamoto so far. The work schedule at WAP is fully flexible.
WAP's work schedule is based on a full-flex system, and since 2008, when the new corona outbreak spread, telework has been introduced at all offices. Necessary equipment such as PCs and smartphones are loaned to employees for telework and a telework allowance of 8,000 yen per month is provided. For employees who come to the Tokyo and Osaka offices, free drinks (tea, coffee, and beer after work) are provided to create a comfortable environment, allowing each employee to freely choose where and how to work according to his or her circumstances.
