2021/11/30
(Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Masahiko Miyahara; hereinafter "WAPE"), a group company of Works Applications, Inc, Works Applications Group ("Works"), announces the launch of its "ERP Solution for Private Universities.
The new solution adds functions specific to school corporations (private universities), such as "research expense management" and "school fee management," to the Works financial accounting system "HUE AC" series, which is used by more than 2,000 companies, organizations, and groups in Japan, to centrally manage budget control and deposit/withdrawal management in addition to accounting operations of school corporations. In addition, by integrating with Works' ArielAirOne groupware and workflow product, HUE Chatbot, a fully-automated AI chatbot, and HUE Project Board, a task progress management service, the cloud will improve and facilitate communication within and outside of the organization, and will enable the management of not only the accounting field, but also the management of budgets and deposits. This will lead to the improvement and facilitation of communication within and outside the organization, and provide comprehensive support for DXing not only in the accounting field, but also in corporate operations.

Background
The strong encouragement of remote work due to the Corona disaster has accelerated the shift to DX in the private sector. On the other hand, school corporations have limited number of mission-critical system products compared to private companies due to the existence of industry-specific accounting standards in corporate operations, while online education has been implemented, which has been a factor hindering the shift to DX. In addition, existing mission-critical systems for school corporations could not cover the complex business requirements unique to large school corporations, so individual add-ons and customization were essential.
Overview
Works has long included "Budget Execution Control" and "Fund Balance Statement, Property Inventory, and Basic Fund Management" in the "HUE AC" series of financial accounting systems as functions for school corporations. This time, in response to requests from existing users, we have additionally developed "research expenses management" and "school fees management," enabling us to handle a wider range of accounting operations specific to school corporations. In addition, functions for budget execution, payment, and other operations have been added as standard templates, enabling smooth migration from existing systems without large-scale add-ons or customization.
Strengths and Features
(1) Deployment of a system used by more than 2,000 companies, organizations, and groups to school corporations
School corporations can use expense reimbursement and purchasing management systems that combine the standard functions of existing accounting systems with support for paperless systems and the Electronic Bookkeeping Act. In addition, the system is also linked to external services such as IC card linkage and purchasing sites, achieving both increased efficiency and strengthened control over budget execution management. This is not just a system dedicated to school corporations, but a system that Works has enhanced for the private sector to support DX for school corporations.
(2) Further promotion of DX through integration with groupware and chatbots
By linking to the ArielAirOne groupware and workflow product for large-scale users, HUE Workflow, a workflow that can be used from a small scale, and HUE Chatbot, a fully automated AI chatbot, provided by Works, the cloud can be used to manage the approval flow and portal management within an organization, It contributes to the DXing of a wide range of back-office operations in corporate operations, such as communication among faculty members and university staff and with students, in addition to accounting. In addition, the task progress management service "HUE Project Board" supports collaboration not only within the organization but also with external parties, such as joint research with collaborators outside the university.
(3) Full support for maintenance after implementation
As with existing accounting systems, the standard package itself will be upgraded free of charge in response to changes in laws and taxation, internal operations and systems, and technological trends. In addition, we have established an inquiry and information sharing site exclusively for our customers, and will respond to inquiries and questions about the product operation as needed.
Future Prospects
WAPE aims to introduce "ERP solutions for private universities" to 30 corporations over the next five years. Through this activity, WAPE will also create templates for standardization of school corporation operations and enhance necessary functions to realize DX in school corporations and contribute to the creation of an environment where clients can focus on education by improving operational efficiency.
