New graduate / Female

In this interview, we asked two young employees about the appeal of the Works Applications Group under the theme of "Young Aces Struggling in the Works Applications Group.

A company whose appeal lies in the "people" who work together.

Please tell us about the image you had of Works Applications before joining the company and the image you feel after actually joining the company.

When I participated in an internship program at the company as a student, I had many opportunities to interact with the employees, but they did not take it easy on me when reviewing assignments, for example, just because I was a student. They were serious and gave me feedback from an equal standpoint.

From this impression, I thought that the company treated me in a manner that was consistent with the other party's perspective, regardless of our respective positions.

And that impression has not changed since I joined the company. I have a strong impression that even the higher-ranking executives and department heads treat each other in an equal manner.

When I participated in the company's recruitment screening as a student, there was a selection process in which I was subjected to an individual review of my assignments, and like Mr. Y.Y., I was pointed out without mercy in a positive sense.

Because of that, I had the impression that there were many excellent and sharp people, and I also had the selfish impression that many people work as individual players (laughs).

After joining the company, my impression that there are many excellent people has not changed, but the image of "many sharp people" or "many people who like individual play" is a little different.
Surprisingly compared to the image I had before joining the company (laugh), I feel that there are many occasions when I can feel the "warmth of people" and not only do team members support each other, but also managers give daily reviews and advice with the team and individual growth in mind.

Please tell us about any specific episodes in which you felt the "warmth of the people".

In my current role as an HR Business Partner, I have many opportunities to come into contact with managers and managers of other departments, and first of all, I think that these people are very attentive to each and every member (subordinate) of their own organization.

I think they manage their organizations from the viewpoint of "work that suits the individual" and "work that leads to the individual's growth," rather than simply performing tasks and fulfilling roles based on an understanding of each member's situation and will. I feel that our company's "warmth" is reflected in the fact that we not only fulfill our role as an organization, but also deal with each person on an individual basis.

A flat environment where young and experienced employees can freely take on challenges, regardless of whether they are young or experienced.

Is there a culture unique to Works Applications that you feel while working at the company?

This is the same impression I had before and after I joined the company, but I think it is rooted in the attitude of trying to listen to opinions from the same point of view regardless of position or status.

One of my most memorable experiences as a newcomer to the company was when, shortly after joining the company, I asked myself, "What do the top people in our company think about? How do people in higher positions think about the business? I suddenly became curious.

I contacted the executive director at the time through his secretary, who readily agreed, and we went out to lunch together. I would love to hear your opinion as only a new graduate can. I remember thinking, "How can they talk to me, a newcomer, in such a way that I can see things from their perspective?

I really think that the company has a flat relationship with employees regardless of their positions.

One is that even young employees are allowed to challenge themselves.

When I say "challenge," I don't mean "just do it. Of course, there are times when I think, "What? Is it really OK for a young person to do this? But they are responsible for providing the advice and reviews needed to move forward with the difficult work, and if things don't go well, there is a safety net to allow those around them to recover. Secondly, I think the company has an environment that allows me to take on challenges while providing the necessary support.

Secondly, when I say, "I would like to try this," I am allowed to take on the challenge after confirming and agreeing on the purpose and effects of the work, such as why the work is being done and what will be achieved by the work. I think this is a feature of our company.

A place where each individual can "take on challenges" in their own way in their own environment.

Please tell us about the "challenges you have experienced at Works Applications.

In my first project after joining the company, a senior colleague asked me, about a month into the project, if I would be interested in making a proposal to solve a problem that the client was facing.

It was my first project and my experience and knowledge were still limited, so there were some solutions that I could not have come up with on my own. With a lot of support, I was able to create a proposal.

Thanks to their support, I believe we were able to propose a solid solution to the client's problem.

I had originally told the senior members of the team that I wanted to have a strong relationship with the client in the project, so I was very grateful that they entrusted me with what I wanted to do with the support of others around me.

After that, I was very happy to receive comments from the client, such as "I think this proposal will solve the business problem," or "This is a good function" about the product, during the course of presenting the proposal several times, and I am glad I took on the challenge.

I also remember an experience I had right after I joined the company. I was assigned to the human resources department as a new graduate, and the very first job I was assigned to was the new graduate recruitment, where I had to create a presentation from scratch for use in the new graduate recruitment process.

At the time, I had almost no basic knowledge of "recruitment," "presentations," or even "the company itself," so it was a challenging job for me.

However, since many members of our human resources department had joined the company in mid-career, I was given the opportunity to try my hand at creating materials for students that incorporated real emotions from the perspective of new graduates.

I tried to design the site by taking advantage of my unique strengths: "As a new graduate, I don't know anything yet," but "as a new graduate who had been job hunting until recently, I can have a realistic viewpoint close to that of a student.

In the end, I was able to complete the project with the support of my seniors, and I believe that this experience was a valuable experience for me in a positive sense, as it removed the passive attitude I had at the time, which was to "first learn by watching and following those around me. The experience at that time helped me to realize what I am doing now: "First of all, I will think by myself. I will try to produce output, even if it is only 70%. I think this experience has led me to my current attitude of "First, I try to think for myself.

A workplace full of bosses and coworkers who respect each individual and think together with them.

What was the background and factors that enabled you both to take on the challenges that you wanted to take on?

I think it is because many of our employees have the same goal of "solving customers' problems" and have the attitude of facing the problems together.

As consultants, we are always looking for the best way to solve our clients' problems. In order to find the best solution, we need to gather information on our products and functions, case studies of other companies, and various other information that can be used as material for consideration.
In such cases, sometimes the person with whom I would gather information would be a senior person in my own department, and other times it would start with a "nice to meet you" greeting with someone in another department with whom I had no prior involvement.
However, I believe that our unique culture is that everyone, even if they are new to the company or have never met each other before, focuses on "what we can do to solve the customer's problem" and faces the problem together.

In my challenge, you may have heard me talk about "utilizing your unique senses and strengths," but in fact, in the beginning I did not recognize "because I am a new graduate" as my strength. I was worried "How can I make something better than my seniors when I have less knowledge and experience than them?" I think it was my seniors and supervisors at that time who helped me to recognize "being a new graduate" as my strength.

For example, I was told by the HR manager at the time, "Because you are a new graduate, I want you to speak up more and more actively at meetings, and if you have any questions or think something should be changed from a new graduate's perspective while working, please don't hesitate to voice your opinions." If you have any questions from a new graduate's point of view or if you think something should be changed, please don't hesitate to express your opinions.
My supervisors and senior staff also told me, "It is not a bad thing to be a new graduate and have no knowledge. On the contrary, it means that you can look at things from a flat perspective. I have found it very easy to do my job because my bosses and seniors have said things that bring out the value of young people in various situations.

Our "Will

What do you hope to achieve at Works Applications in the future?

Up to now, I have built a career in which I have focused on a single project, armed with knowledge of a single product. Therefore, in the future, I would like to increase my knowledge and experience of other products and be able to propose a wide range of solutions to a greater number of customers' problems.
As an implementation consultant, I would like to further develop my skills and expand my range of services! (Gut-pause)

We in the back office do not directly contribute to the company's sales.
I would like to contribute to the success of the company's business by supporting frontline employees on the business side and helping the organization to grow in a better direction through my work in recruitment and HR business partnering.
To this end, I would like to communicate well with everyone across departments and work together to solve both big and small issues.
I am also aware that I still lack the necessary expertise and skills, so I will do my best while proactively taking on new challenges in jobs that will help me develop those areas where I am lacking!

The appeal of our company is that even young employees can raise their hands and take on challenges, but it is not limited to that.

Do you have a message for job seekers reading this interview?

As I have mentioned in this interview, our culture is not to teach you everything, but rather to let you think and try things out for yourself first, and then those around you will generously provide support in the form of reviews and advice.
If you are the kind of person who wants to "act on your own initiative," rather than waiting for others to tell you what to do, you will find it rewarding and exciting to work at our company. I believe that those who are willing to take action on their own initiative, rather than waiting for others to tell them what to do, will find the work rewarding and exciting.

Our job as implementation consultants is to work as a team with our clients and employees to improve their business through system implementation. We want to solve our clients' problems! It is very rewarding and fun to work together toward a single goal of "solving the customer's problems!
If you are interested in working with us after reading this interview, I would like to invite you to apply!

If you feel that your current job or workplace is somehow inadequate, or if you have something you want to do but feel frustrated that you cannot take on the challenge, of course it depends on what you want to do and why, but we have an environment where you do not feel inadequate and where you can take action with a will. We have an environment where you don't feel inadequate and where you can take action with a will!
I will repeat again that we are a company that is rooted in the "natural" idea of generously supporting those who raise their hands and proactively take on challenges.
Of course, there will be times when you will hit a wall in the midst of your challenges, but if you want to grow and take on new challenges, we are looking forward to working with you!

*Conditions for application of the full flextime system and flextime leave system depend on the employment status.

Pick up! ★

Distinguishing between "telework" and "office

I basically telework from home. I can flexibly decide when to come to the office, such as when I need to pick up supplies or when I want to communicate with my team. In addition to teleworking, our company has a full flex-time system, which allows for constant adjustment of work hours. Looking at the employees around me, some of them work flexibly, such as teleworking while leaving the office once to pick up their children, and then resuming work upon their return.

I basically telework from home, but depending on the work, I may come to the office once or twice a month. I often come to the office for communication purposes, such as when I need to do work that can be done more efficiently in the office, meeting new team members when they join the team, or kick-off MTG at the beginning of the term. The head office just moved to a new location the year before last, so there are coffee and other beverage servers, making it comfortable to work in. There is also a free beer server, so employees sometimes communicate with each other over a beer after work (laughs).

*There are some positions that do not allow telework due to the nature of the work.
*Some employment contracts and positions are not applicable to the full flextime system.
